We had a developer fee.
We got rid of it.
We directed it to fight Galamsey mining instead.
This is how it happened.
▸ When Ethicoin was being built, the original smart contract included a 1% developer fee — standard in the industry. Developers get paid.
▸ Before launch, the team made a decision: waive the developer fee permanently.
▸ That 1% was reassigned — in code — to Galamsey elimination. Forever. Forever.
▸ It is now written into the smart contract and cannot be changed by the team, by any exchange, or by any vote.
Result: The team earns zero from transaction fees. Galamsey elimination gets 1% of everything. Always.
Most crypto projects talk about ethics. Ethicoin hardcoded it. The team could have kept the 1% for itself. It chose not to. That choice is now permanent — it lives in the contract code on BNB Smart Chain and cannot be reversed.
